AIRPORT

Copenhagen Airport is located 8 km from the city. Buses, Metro, trains and taxis provide transport to the Copenhagen city centre. Taxis can be hired from outside all arrival areas. Fares include VAT and tips and can normally be paid by credit card. Train tickets are available from the ticket office above the railway station in Terminal 3.

Nørreport station is central to most of the hotels listed above.

CLIMATE

October weather in Copenhagen is usually quite cold but pleasant with temperatures around 5-15C. But it can be rainy and also quite windy and it a good idea to check the weather forecast before you leave to make sure you bring appropriate clothes.

CURRENCY

The currency in Denmark is the Danish krone (crown). Taxis, most tourist attractions and restaurants will accept EURO, however at a lower exchange rate.

Major credit cards are accepted everywhere, including in all taxis.

Most banks do not pay out cash any more but there are automatic cash dispensers, usually located in connection with a bank branch, which accept a variety of international credit cards.

 

SHOPS

Shops are open from 10:00 to 18:00 / 19:00 hrs, Monday through Friday, and until 14:00/17:00 hrs on Saturdays. A few department stores in city have longer opening hours. Supermarkets are opened 7/7 and have long opening hours.

 

TIPS

Tips are always included in prices given in taxis and restaurants.

Electricity is supplied at 220 volts A/C, 50Hz cycle.
