Welcome to the

9th Copenhagen Workshop on Testicular Germ Cell Cancer

October 24-26, 2018

We cordially welcome you to the 9th Copenhagen Workshop on Testicular Germ Cell Cancer. These Workshops were initiated in 1980 by Professor Niels E. Skakkebaek to discuss the importance of carcinoma in situ testis (now known as germ cell neoplasia in situ) and have since grown to the only meeting worldwide devoted mainly to the pathogenesis, genetics and management of testicular cancer. The Workshops have always been held in Copenhagen and were organised by the staff of the Department of Growth & Reproduction (Rigshospitalet). These unique meetings are well attended by the ‘who-is-who’ in the field and have fostered numerous successful collaborations.

A broad spectrum of topics pertinent to the pathogenesis and management of testicular cancer will be discussed at the upcoming workshop, and a number of internationally renowned experts have agreed to participate as speakers (see Programme).

We encourage all scientists interested in testicular cancer to take part in this event. There is a possibility to submit an abstract for one of the two poster sessions; one mainly focussed on basic aspects, and the other – on clinical and translational aspects. A few best abstracts will be selected for a short oral presentation – so this is a chance for young scientists - you have a chance to present your research in front of the world experts in the field.

Finally, we would like to mention that Copenhagen is very much worth a visit before or after the Workshop. It is a vibrant capital, full of historical treasures, but also famous for its sense of ‘hygge’ (Danish enjoyment of life or ‘joie de vivre’), top class Nordic cuisine and internationally renowned design.

We sincerely hope that you will come to Copenhagen in October to discuss science, network with colleagues and have a good time!
